
Watch Watership Down this Christmas
Watership Down returns this Christmas in a new 4-part mini-series, brought to you by the BBC and Netflix. Each 50-minute episode follows one leg of the journey of the determined Hazel (James McAvoy) and insightful Fiver (Nicholas Holt), as they try to find and establish a home at the safe haven of Watership Down.
The series will air on BBC 1 over Christmas, and will be available on Netflix from January
The Story
Set in the idyllic rural landscape of southern England, this tale of adventure, courage, and survival follows a band of rabbits on their flight from the intrusion of man and the certain destruction of their home.
Led by a stouthearted pair of brothers, they journey forth from their native Sandleford Warren through the harrowing trials posed by predators and adversaries, towards a promised land and a more perfect society.

The Cast
The Watership Down cast is a veritable who's-who of British actors.
The five lead rabbits of Watership Down are: Fiver (played by Nicholas Hoult), Hazel (James McAvoy), Blackberry (Miles Jupp), Bigwig (John Boyega) and Dandelion (Daniel Rigby).
However, the cast also includes Gemma Arterton (playing Clover), Olivia Colman (Strawberry), Ben Kingsley (General Woundwort), Daniel Kaluuya (Bluebell) and Rosamund Pike (Black Rabbit of Inlé).
Other roles are being voiced by Crazy Rich Asians’ Gemma Chan, The Office’s Mackenzie Crook, Kingsmen’s Taron Egerton and The Three Musketeers’ Freddie Fox.
